THE EASTBOURNE TENNIS LEAGUE

PLAY THREE MATCHES BEFORE THE MIDWAY POINT AND WIN A FREE TUBE OF TENNIS BALLS. SUITABLE FOR ALL STANDARD OF PLAYER, FROM BEGINNER TO EXPERT!

Before you get playing!
New members are welcome to join at any point, but you will need to wait till the start of the next round before you can start playing. 
There are four rounds a year of singles, so you shouldn't have to wait long.
This is a mixed singles league, (with mixed doubles also offered)
It’s divided into groups of about 6 players of a similar standard
Everyone in their group plays everyone else on Highbury Fields unless another venue suits both parties
Matches are the best of three tie break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
It’s up to everyone to arrange their own matches
You get one point for every set you win.
At the end of the round, the top one or two players go up to the next group, and the bottom one
or two go down.
You get a free can of balls and two bonus points if you complete three matches by the half way point.
Everyone who wins their group wins a bottle of champagne and one of our mighty fine certificates.

Welcome to the brand new Eastbourne Tennis League. The league is centred on the tennis centre at the Eastbourne Sports Park, but matches can be played all over Eastbourne!

The league is open to all adult players in the Eastbourne area. You don't have to be a member of any club, and you may play your match on any court that suits both parties. See the courts and booking page for suggestions of where to play.

The league is designed to offer an easy structure to play competitive matches at a time that suits you.

  • Matches are the best of three tie break sets (allow 2 hours per match)
  • It’s up to everyone to arrange their own matches. You get one point for every set you win.
  • At the end of the round, the top one or two players go up to the next group, and the bottom one or two go down.
  • You get a FREE can of balls and two bonus points if you complete three matches by the half way point.
  • WINNERS of each group WIN £20 and one of our mighty fine certificates.
  • The entry fee for the Eastbourne Tennis League is just £12

The summer round is now under way. It began on 26 July and finishes Sunday 19 September, 2010.  

The autumn round runs from Monday 18 October to Sunday 12 December, 2010
